[ Oh. It's his turn and since... He's human, he actually dreads talking about it. Years have settled those emotions, but they still linger. Emotions always do. ]
[ The only reason Omi could do it was because it was his first real acting assignment. When you act, there needs to be some part of you on stage. It meant he had to deal with his past right there. ]
Oh, no, you don't need to. Unless you think it would be easier...?
[ He makes a little hacking noise since no, he thinks it would be harder. That moment when Omi has more experience facing himself than Gojou. Wow. ]
His name was Getou Suguru—a sorcerer like me. We met in school and we butt heads a lot, but I still respect him. He was one of the strongest sorcerers I knew aside from myself and I felt that we truly understood each other.
[ Because being at the top is lonely. No one can stand beside you, but Gojou it was Getou Suguru. ]
Suguru might have been strong, but he thought with his heart. He believed that sorcerers are supposed to protect the weak which I thought was ridiculous at the time. The job eventually wore him down... From seeing the world's cruelties and the fact that it isn't uncommon for fellow sorcerers to die on a mission. We've buried a lot of our own across the years.
I'm not sure what happened or how he got there, but he told me... He could recreate a world without curses. It would only take a whole genocide of non-sorcerers since curses only came from regular, everyday people's negative emotions. It's ridiculous, right? Stupid and impossible! But he believed he could protect sorcerers doing this.
Suguru was such an idiot.
... He defected, gained a following, and planned a large plot to do as he promised. It eventually escalated where all of Japan would be in danger and I couldn't turn a blind eye anymore.
[ In every word, there's a warmness to Gojou's voice. This is the connection he found irreplaceable, once in a lifetime. Getou Suguru still has a place in his heart and that will never change. He laughs a bit before sliding his hands into his pockets, sighing. ]
If he wasn't so softhearted, the world wouldn't have ruined him.
[That's right, Gojou is from a world with magic. Sounds like the secret sort of magic that regular, every day people simply don't know about.
Omi doesn't think he'll ever understand Getou or Gojou, the life they've lived, the ways of the sorcerer. The desire to protect what the people who are closest to him, that's something he can, but the genocide of others- that's where he's lost. Maybe this was the only solution he could come to after living a life like that, seeing his friends and colleagues dying over who knows how long.
How old were they, before his friend decided he'd had enough?
He hears Gojou's tone, and he knows something like that feeling. That's the kid of relationship that leaves a long lasting impression.]
He's still important to you. [Even after all of this happened.]
Thank you. [This must have been difficult. Talking about the past is never easy, especially when it comes with such heavy emotions.]
[ Even though Getou Suguru has passed, no longer in the world, and Gojou made sure of it, his memory is something he keeps close. He has heard plenty of people call the monk evil, vile, but Gojou doesn't. To him, his best friend will be too kind to a fault and this was his way of protecting himself, no matter how twisted it is. Doesn't make his actions acceptable, however.
It's weird to talk about it. He never went into detail about it with Shouko, either. ]
You keep thanking me for no reason.
[ Don't make him shove you, Omi. ]
Now that I think about it, I guess we're kind of similar!
[Maybe just shove him anyway? Anyway, he thinks he's perfectly justified in saying thank you. It's not the same thing as Omi's literal monologue, but it's still something that must've been difficult to talk about.
He respects Gojou a little more for being willing to share.]
Suguru's dream is to change the world for sorcerers and I'm kind of doing the same thing! As a teacher, taking care of young sorcerers and guiding them along...
[ So that they don't break like Getou did. Their circumstances may be different, but there are certain things that match between them. ]
Yeah, even though I really hate babysitting, I ended up becoming a teacher.
[ Siiiiiiighs. Because he thinks Getou would have been a teacher if things went right... Probably would be a better teacher than him, but he isn't going to ADMIT THAT. ]
If we could send them messages, I'd tell Suguru he's an idiot.

Should I do it in the same format?
[ Improv a monologue. ]

I do! They're good kids and have a lot of potential.
[ He's sure Getou would have thought the same. ]
Well, for you, you'll be able to get a response back if you get your wish granted.
no subject
Yeah. I just need to make it to the end of all of this.

How are you going to tell Nachi, though? That you slept your way to the top?

[It's absolutely true but.]
